Abstract

An invited presentation regarding the impact of Punk in Belfast during 1980's. The presentation will explore how punk transcended and negotiated the sectarian politics, culture and communities to create a positive autonomous space in the city center, through production of documentary works around punk subculture. Followed by a 'live' interpretive performance of lived experience in Belfast.

The exhibition piece is finished with a screening of the documentary work 'Squeezin the Juice' featuring anarcho-ska band Inner Terrestrials as they tour through Europe.
