Abstract

This paper explains and discusses the drivers, aims and the design process applied in a research and development project to develop a low- to mid- rise green lift system. The particular technologies that have been considered in this work include a new lift car design, adjustable counterweight system, lift control system, energy efficient drive system, lift monitoring system, belt suspension and improvements in lift installation technique.
