Abstract

This book chapter examines the gender pay gap at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a public media house in the United Kingdom (UK). It explores how diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives can address this disparity. Despite progress made in recent years, the BBC continues to have a gender pay gap favouring men. The case study examines the role of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in challenging gender stereotypes, increasing female representation in leadership roles, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. It highlights the importance of a comprehensive and sustained approach to implementing D&I initiatives to address the gender pay gap at the BBC.
