Abstract
Water can be seen to have been involved in some aspects of anomalous experiences since early civilisations. Various examples of scrying, and the witnessing of spiritual beings associated with water, often appear to relate to altered states of consciousness when interacting with water in some way. When we consider modern day research in parapsychology, there is no obvious link to water, except when the suggestion of the use of sensory deprivation via floatation tanks is casually raised. This talk will consider documentation of beliefs and anomalous experiences surrounding human interaction with water, through to pilot trials of the use of floatation tanks in modern day parapsychology to induce potential psi imagery.
