Abstract
This case study discusses the opportunities and challenges that women in senior management roles face in e-business organisations. The focus is on Alibaba, China’s biggest e-commerce company. Students are asked to evaluate the company’s strengths and weaknesses in its journey to encourage women in leadership, within the context of broader issues of gender equality.
