Ben is a part-time PhD student, studying the British Army intelligence function during the interwar period. He is a former police officer, who served with the Metropolitan Police Special Branch and Counter Terrorism Command. After leaving the police, he worked as an intelligence operations specialist at the NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre at RAF Molesworth. As an Armed Forces Reservist, Ben took part in intelligence operations in the Balkans and Iraq.
Ben has a BSc Econ (Hons) in international politics and strategic studies from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and a MA in intelligence and security studies from Brunel University, London.
He is a member of the Society for Army Historical Research, the Army Records Society and a postgraduate member of the Royal Historical Society. Additionally, he sits on the committee of the Defence Research Network and the Institute for Historical Research, History Lab.
