Personal profile

Biography

I am a qualified librarian and have worked at the University of Northampton since 2001, supporting the Faculty of Business and Law (and the Northampton Business School before that) as an Academic Librarian in Library and Learning Services (LLS). The role involves academic liaison and LLS representation at students meetings and quality events, teaching students through embedded skills sessions and individual tutorials, as well as collection development to ensure appropriate resources are available.

Research Interests

I have undertaken research around Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA) of e-Books and the experiences of top-up students and an URB@N funded project around a Resources Week activity conducted in Library and Learning Services.

Given my professional role, I am always looking for ways to improve the business student experience in relation to library and information/academic skills. I am particularly interested in supporting international students and researching how the Library can assist them to develop the skills they need to become more successful at university and beyond.
