Biography

Nadia Hards is an academic who takes a keen interest in research relevant to her area of expertise, which is predominately supporting international students, and in particular, content creation of materials specifically designed to support them.

In undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Nadia aims to identify gaps in the available support and enhance the service. As Assistant Programme Leader for the Pre-sessional English Programmes offered at the University, Nadia has a particular interest in exploring how an intercultural approach could be utilised to support these students more effectively.

Research Interests

Nadia has engaged in research examining the impact of the three shocks (academic shock, culture shock and language shock) on international students upon matriculation and the benefits of an intercultural approach. She has been involved in research that has enabled her to propose solutions for other institutions experiencing similar challenges and potentially collaborate in research projects too.

Nadia is open to building networks with other academics and practitioners in her fields of interest.
