Abstract
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems allow all corporate information to be taken from many different organization positions in a single central database by working in integration, and in principle make any organizational object visible. They are generally easy to use systems. It is a method that increases operational efficiency and standardizes processes by accelerating access to common resources, which are also included in the corporate structure. Companies use ERP for various reasons. These can be listed as the sector, company, its benefits, and the variety according to the user. Firms generally make comparisons before and after using ERP and in this way the observations they create on the company. The most important thing for the benefits of ERP is to decrease expenses and increase incomes. Instead of transactions for monotonous people, the work to be done for corporate memory does not have to be followed and more efficiency can be obtained. Managers can spend much more time on auditing, reviewing and making critical decisions, rather than the tasks undertaken by the ERP. Communication workload and costs increase significantly with traditional methods. In addition, it cannot meet the sectoral needs. ERP is indispensable for companies aiming to grow and make a profit. ERP connects all company processes to a single point and enables them to be managed from there. With the information gathered from the departments, it finds a department integrated into which department. Parallel to this, customer satisfaction increases and provides easy access to everything from a single point, rather than being dispersed in many places and having difficulty reaching the desired. One of the most beautiful features of ERP is that it is very easy to use. In addition to providing this service, it resolves problems and supply. Provides a fast program free of charge for the institution and reduces implementation costs. It also enables the company to coordinate its domestic and international units from a single centre. Even if ERP was initially associated with the manufacturing sector, the final tool has spread to much larger goals and areas. It has a software that can be tailored to each company according to their qualifications. Among the ERP modules and the most used ones; there are software used for human resources, project management, production & planning, quality control, finance, accounting, stock & inventory management, sales & marketing and purchasing departments. In this study, a study was conducted on airline companies operating in Turkey. According to this study, the purposes and areas of use of ERP applications by airline companies were examined. A survey study was conducted and because of this study, the effects of ERP on airline companies were investigated.
