The A&F subject group leads the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) GEM Award Gap figures. In an attempt to understand the strategies and best practices of the A&F subject group? And how effective are these strategies in reducing the GEM Award Gap? This research undertakes qualitative Interviews with academics, Secondary data analyses (Thematic analysis of the NSS and quantitative analysis of students' achievements in relation to students' demographics and entry qualifications), and finally, focus groups with students. . The findings of the interviews and focus groups revealed the following best practices: a) Providing assessment support by aligning learning outcomes with module content, offering scaffolding and formative assessments, and utilizing various assessment measures such as Q&A, Moch exams, and draft reviews. b) Implementing inclusive teaching styles and peer learning activities in learning and teaching strategies. c) Engaging with learning and development and Changemaker teams, having good knowledge of the PAT role, and participating in extracurricular activities are effective student support strategies.
