Abstract
The production of palm oil, a versatile and widely used vegetable oil, can have negative impacts on the environment and society. To address these impacts, Golden Agri-Resources (GAR), one of the world’s largest palm oil companies, has been pursuing sustainable and responsible palm oil production. This paper examines how GAR has overcome the challenges and has embarked on a successful sustainability journey, which involves adopting various policies, practices, and innovations that comply with international standards and certifications.
