Prof. Amin Hosseinian-Far is a Professor of Systems Thinking in the Department of Business Systems and Operations at the University of Northampton. He is also the Chair of the research Centre for Sustainable Business Practices (CSBP) at the University. Amin received his BSc (Hons) in Business Information Systems from the University of East London, an MSc degree in Satellite Communications and Space Systems from the University of Sussex, a Postgraduate Certificate in Research and a PhD degree titled ‘A Systemic Approach to an Enhanced Model for Sustainability’ which he acquired from the University of East London. In his previous academic experience, he was a Staff Tutor at the Open University, UK, and prior to that a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader at Leeds Beckett University, UK. He has held lecturing and research positions at the University of East London, and at a number of private HE institutions and strategy research firms.
Prof. Hosseinian-Far has more than 90 peer-reviewed publications that are mainly disseminated as journal articles, conference papers and book chapters. His research interests are at the intersection of systems thinking (mainly hard systems thinking), information systems, analytics and modelling, with applications in resilience assessment & sustainability, information systems & security, management, business systems, global business operations, supply management, engineering, health, and education. Moreover, he has been an editor of two books and two conference proceedings.
Prof. Hosseinian-Far is an Ex-Associate Editor for the International Journal of Systems and Society, the founding editor and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Strategic Engineering (IJoSE), and a Guest Editor for a Special Issue in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (MDPI). Amin holds the Membership of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Senior Fellowship of Advance-HE (HEA), and the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). Furthermore, he is one of the external associates for the Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) at the University of East London, UK, and the Public Transportation Systems (PTS) Research Group at RMIT University, Australia.
