Biography

Dr Dilshad Sarwar is an Associate Professor and Head of Business Systems and Operations, within the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Northampton. She is also actively involved within the research Centre for Sustainable Business Practice (CSBP) at the University. She is also a member of the Centre for the Advancement of Racial Equality (CARE) as well as actively being involved in the SABI research group.  In her previous roles she has taught at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and is actively involved in PhD and DBA supervisions.   

Dilshad’s PhD was gained from Leeds Beckett University titled: “Critical Race Theory – A Phenomenological Approach to Social Inclusion of BME Non-Traditional Students”. Dilshad has a Postgraduate Certificate in Research, MA in Education Management and MSc Information Systems, Dilshad is also a Senior Fellow of the HEA.  

Research Interests

Dilshad’s current research is broadly within the area of Information Systems and Business Information Systems as a discipline with a focused research interest in the social influences and domains of Internet of Things and Disaster Management Systems, which entails social computing and managing information in the digital age. Additionally, she is actively involved in research surrounding sustainability, business information systems and research within higher education and she is also actively involved in equality, diversity and inclusion.
