Ecem Karlıdağ-Dennis is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact. Ecem holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham, School of Education. She specialises in the sociology of education, and her main research areas are educational policymaking, social justice and gender.

Ecem is currently an Associate Editor for the international 'Journal of Child and Family Studies, an Editorial Board Member for 'Research in Educational Administration and Leadership" and a member of the UKRI Talent Peer Review College (PRC). 

Ecem is a member of the Research, Impact, and Innovation Committee (RIIC) as a representative for Early Career Researchers at the University for 2023-2024.
