Ecem Karlıdağ-Dennis is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact. She earned her PhD from the University of Nottingham's School of Education. Her expertise lies in the sociology of education, with a focus on educational policymaking, social justice, and gender.

Ecem serves as an Associate Editor for the 'Journal of Child and Family Studies' and is on the Editorial Board of 'Research in Educational Administration and Leadership'. She is also a member of the UKRI Talent Peer Review College. Ecem also advises on the 'Quality Management in Education' board for Bilkent University's Department of American Culture and Literature in Ankara, Turkey.

From 2023 Ecem has been representing Early Career Researchers on the Research, Impact, and Innovation Committee at the University of Northampton.

From 2024 Ecem has been a member of the FHS Ethics Comittee at the University of Northampton.
