Biography

Michael Maher (BA MA PhD) is an Early Career Researcher at the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact (ISII). His work is predominantly focused on young people, social enterprise, and education, with an emphasis on co-production and participatory research methods. Michael is involved in several major projects including AI in Law Enforcement (RAI-UK Funded 4-year interdisciplinary project: “PROBable Futures – Probablistic AI system in Law Enforcement), the University of Northampton’s Access and Participation plan, and the evaluation of the international Canon Young People Programme.

In addition to his research activities, Michael serves as an Associate Lecturer in International Relations, is a co-founder of the Early Career Researcher Network in the Faculty of Business and Law, and partakes in several committees, including: the Data Governance Subcommittee, the Knowledge Exchange Committee, and the Research Ethics Committee for Health.

As part of his role with ISII, Michael has co-led the development of a range of workshops to help small organisations and doctoral students in:

  • Develop theories of change,
