Abstract

The involvement of pupils with special educational needs in the assessment and management of their own learning needs is an area of development which has seen considerable progress in a number of innovative schools. The QUEST Project, funded by the Nuffield Foundation and managed by the present authors, set out to examine current practices in a range of schools.
