Abstract

At the University of the East Midlands, the Head of Learning Development has been asked to join the Teaching Excellence Framework working group and is already a member of the Access and Participation working group. At the same time, a solo Learning Developer at the University of the Southwest is also wondering if their tutorial approach is useful and helpful. At both institutions their work is well regarded but both learning developers are reflecting on their practice: What value does their work have in relation to student outcomes? Can they measure their effect? In essence: do they have impact?
