Personal profile

Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Business (Strategy & International Business) and Co-Programme Leader of BA International Business Management. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Prior to entering academia, I worked as a management professional in various industries. As a management consultant, I have worked in the European Social Fund, Carmarthenshire County Council, and Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) funded research projects. I have also created and developed both commercial business ventures and social enterprise start-ups. Alongside my research and teaching, I currently run a social enterprise, mohioshi, which is committed to empowering girls and womxn in rural Bangladesh by supporting their education and attempting to bridge the large gap in achieving gender equality within society. I am also part of a community interest company, the travellers' tree CIC, which brings art, cycling and nature together to improve the mental health of migrants and refugees in Birmingham, UK.

Research Interests

My research interests relate to social and sustainable entrepreneurship, place-based paradox, sustainable practises of SMEs, ethnic minority entrepreneurship.

Teaching Interests

My teaching areas are connected to social responsibility and impact, business ethics, sustainable business practices, social and sustainable entrepreneurship.
