Abstract

Parenthood is a multifaceted and diverse concept that transcends people’s lives. It is complex and impacted through a person’s history, political and geographical context, cultural and social norms, and individual differences and family circumstances. In this chapter we explore ideologies of what it is to be a mother and father, how parents transition and experience being a parent and the ways in which they approach and seek information, as well as access support through online mediums.
