Description

The Community Safety Partnership, which is made up of representatives from the University’s Estates and Campus Services team, West Northamptonshire Council and Northamptonshire Police, and the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, has received £813,000 Home Office funding to support practical crime prevention measures to tackle violence against women and girls across the County.

The University of Northampton and The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, who were commissioned to work with the University to offer personal safety training and bystander intervention workshops for staff and students.

As part of this phase of the project (Oct 2021-March 2022), The Suzy Lamplugh Trust conducted research which then informed safety talks and a student safety animation. The consultants/ stakeholders for this work included: Arad Parsi and Emma Hildreth from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust; Lorna Clarke from Northamptonshire Police; Laura McSherry and Lee Johnson from Campus Security and Estates; Ben Miles and Anna Quinn from Student Support; Kimberley Hill, Associate Professor in Psychology; Dean Sheldrick, Additional Needs Manager; Roger Weston and Zoe Boyer from the Student's Union.
