Biography

Stacie joined the University of Northampton in 2021 as a Senior Lecturer in Sport Business and Leadership and works within the Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology. She is the Programme Leader for the BSc Sport Management and Leadership degree. 

Stacie began her studies by undertaking a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport Science with Management at Loughborough University. She proceeded to complete an MA in Sport Marketing and PgCAPHE from Coventry University. She also holds a Charted Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Diploma in Marketing and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

Stacie completed her PhD (Achieving Compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code: A Comparison of Other International Agreements) at Loughborough University. Her  PhD studentship was funded by Loughborough University and the University of Tsukuba.

Research Interests

I currently have two active research strands that are primarily aligned with SDG 4 quality education and SDG 5 gender equality. First, my pedagogy research focuses upon disrupting the hidden curriculum and influencing the extent to which colleagues integrate curricula EDI in a manner that responds to macro and meso level agendas. This research impacts teaching practice and enhances the student learning experience within sport management and wider subject areas. The research contributes recommendations to enhance teaching practice and macro / meso level policy.  

Second, my subject specific research focuses upon policy implementation and compliance in the sport industry, with a specific focus upon social and welfare issues in sport (e.g., gender equality, corruption).  

Specific interest areas include:

  • Diversity in the curricula and sport 
  • Sport management education 
  • Policy implementation 
  • Policy compliance

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
