Biography

Robert Farmer is the Learning Technology Manager at the University of Northampton, where he supports the Head of Learning Technology to lead and manage the University’s award-winning Learning Technology Team. Before taking up this role he worked as a Learning Designer, Learning Technologist, and Learning Development Tutor, and prior to this was a full-time FE/HE lecturer, teaching and leading courses in philosophy, critical thinking, and digital film-making.

Research Interests

Robert's current research interests and publications include work on the Hero’s Journey in Higher Education, Socratic Dialogue in the Nelson-Heckmann tradition, the flipped classroom, blended and active learning, course and module design, patchwork text assessment, and educational videos.
